Doug Sunseri Gives Seminar at Southeastern Louisiana University on Government Contracting

On April 21, 2011, Attorney Doug Sunseri gave a seminar at the Louisiana Small Business Development Center at Southeastern Louisiana University on Partnering, Joint Ventures and Teaming Agreements for government contracts. The seminar was sponsored by Louisiana PTAC Southeast. The Louisiana Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) was established to generate employment and improved the general economy of Louisiana by assisting business firms and obtaining and accessing government contracts. The seminar discussed techniques in partnering in government contracts. Partnering in government contracts can be a win – win situation for companies to secure government contracts even if it does not have all the core competencies necessary for a particular contract. It is imperative to partner in the correct manner – teaming agreement or joint ventures. Doug explained at the seminar the techniques and legal issues in partnering and teaming in government contracts. Further, Doug distinguished the differences between teaming agreements and joint ventures. It is imperative for set-aside companies (i.e. 8A, Service Disabled, HUB Zone and woman-owned companies) to understand the principles of teaming and joint ventures in order to be successful in teaming which large prime contractors. The PowerPoint and PDF handouts for the seminar is in the continuing education's section of our website at NSLAWLA.com. Doug is one is one of the few attorneys in the southern United States whose practice has a high concentration of government contracts.
