Robin Thicke's divorce pending

Celebrity couples draw a lot of attention. Because at least one of them is in the public eye -- typically for their involvement in music, movies or sports -- people get invested in the celebrity couples' lives. This can be challenging for the real people who are part of those couples, since their marriages have ups and downs like everyone else's have. Due to their celebrity status, their travails become international news. This is the case with the pending divorce of Robin Thicke and his long-time wife, Paula Patton.

Thicke, the son of "Growing Pains" star Alan Thicke, is a successful singer. He has enjoyed hit songs and sold out shows for years. Recently, he has been engrossed in controversy, as the video for his song "Blurred Lines" was viewed as pushing boundaries. A 2013 Video Music Awards performance of the song with Miley Cyrus also drew substantial criticism.

His marriage to Patton was part of a relationship dating back to 1993. The couple met as teenagers in high school, and they have been together ever since. The recent controversies may have affected the marriage, though, and Thicke was allegedly seen in a Paris nightclub with another woman.

The couple is setting all speculation for their breakup aside, and they have released a mutually respectful statement. It says that they still love each other and will remain best friends, but have decided to separate. The couple has been open about their challenges in past interviews, while keeping specifics private.

In this case, the couple that split is well known. In many Louisiana divorce cases, the husband and wife are known only to friends and family. Still the issues that each divorcing Louisiana couple deals with are important, and they can sort those out with the help of a experienced attorney.
