There always seems to be controversy surrounding former National Football League player Tim Tebow -- or at the very least, an unbelievable amount of media attention. While he's not with any NFL team right now, he hopes to return to the gridiron someday.
In a recent interview, Tebow expressed his thoughts on having children. He's currently single, but said, "When I have a family someday, I'll probably adopt. Adoption has always been something close to my heart. There are so many kids out there who really need a family."
Tebow is well-known for his charitable organization, the Tim Tebow Foundation, which he created in 2010. That foundation works with many agencies, including Adoption and Orphan Care. In addition, a $3 million hospital was built in the Philippines through the foundation, and many children diagnosed with terminal illnesses have had their wishes granted. Over $1 million was raised last week in the annual Tim Tebow Celebrity Golf Classic.
Tebow's parents were missionaries and went to the Philippines. Tebow has also been there on similar trips. He said, "My foundation is the most important thing I do, or have ever done. That's what my life is about."
Adoption can be a complicated process. Some people putting children up for adoption can be less than honest. An experienced family law attorney can provide assistance to those wishing to add to their family. Because the legal requirements regarding adoption can differ among the states, it's important to know exactly what Louisiana requires in order to avoid many of the pitfalls that can happen when people attempt to adopt without legal representation.
